MANSON, Wash. (AP) - The Chelan County sheriff’s office says the body of a 50-year-old woman has been recovered from Lake Chelan at Manson Bay Marina.

A family boarding a boat noticed a body floating near a boat Wednesday morning and called authorities.

The victim was identified as 50-year-old Catherine Maynard of Manson.

Deputies reviewing surveillance video determined that Maynard lost her balance while walking down the dock and fell into the water around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was alone at the time.

The sheriff’s office says she had fallen asleep on the boat after boating with a friend. When she woke up, she left the boat, lost her balance and drowned.
