AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - The Maine Development Foundation has tapped an executive at Bangor Savings Bank to serve as its leader.

The board voted this week to hire Yellow Light Breen as president and CEO effective Aug. 10. He’ll take over following the resignation of the economic development group’s previous leader, Harold Clossey, in April.

Breen, who has been at Bangor Savings for 12 years, has served on the nonprofit’s board and has led an ongoing initiative that helps networking groups retain and support young professional.

Breen said the Maine Development Foundation’s goal of stimulating new ideas, developing leaders, strengthening communities and solving problems “has never been more critical.”
