PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A Philadelphia man is heading to prison for raping five women in 2011 and 2012.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/1gdYsPs ) 23-year-old Eric Rogers was sentenced Thursday to 55 to 178 years in prison.

Rogers frequently questioned Common Pleas Court Judge Donna Woelpper during the hearing and refused to answer questions, follow court protocol or sign court documents. Woelpper didn’t respond to his comments. She says he’s a poor candidate for rehabilitation and hasn’t expressed remorse.

Woelpper convicted Rogers in February after a nonjury trial. Rogers said during the trial that the women he raped “wanted it.”

Prosecutors say he raped five women, including two teens, often beating and robbing them during the attacks. Assistant District Attorney Branwen McNabb says he stole the victims’ possessions, dignity and self-worth.
