MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont state trooper has been honored for saving an 82-year-old woman from her burning home.
Roberta Howard was trapped inside her Thetford home in February.
WCAX-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1LHXQgO) Sgt. Lyle Decker crawled to where Howard was and pulled her to safety. Howard spent over a week in a coma, but recovered.
She thanked him for saving her at a statehouse ceremony Thursday.
A lifesaving award also was presented to Trooper Clark Lombardi.
