LOS ANGELES (AP) - A suspected motorcycle gang member charged with killing a Pomona policeman has been ordered to stand trial.

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune (https://bit.ly/1I3f8Cr ) says a judge ruled Wednesday there’s enough evidence to try David Martinez.

Prosecutors say the 37-year-old killed Pomona SWAT Officer Shaun Diamond with a shotgun blast during a late-night raid on his San Gabriel home last October.

Diamond was part of multiagency police operation targeting members of the Mongols motorcycle gang.

At the preliminary hearing, his attorney argued that there’s no evidence that his client fired the deadly blast.

Martinez is facing a murder charge with a special gang allegation that makes him eligible for the death penalty if convicted.
