MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Red flag warnings have been posted for a large part of northwest Montana, including the Missoula and Kalispell areas.

The National Weather Service says the greatest are of concern includes the Kootenai Forest, the Stillwater State Forest and Rexford District as well as locations to the east of them.

It says a combination of extremely dry fuels, strong winds, hot temperatures and low humidity make the area especially dangerous for potential fire starts.

The red flag warning is posted through 9 p.m. Saturday.
