ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - Family members are searching for the body of an Albany resident who apparently drowned in the Willamette River.

The Albany Democrat-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1esZwxG ) the man, last seen by his wife on Friday afternoon floating on a small air mattress in the river near Albany’s Bowman Park, disappeared after calling for help.

Albany Police and Benton and Linn County rescue personnel, including a dive team, searched for the man on Friday - but they only found the air mattress.

Family members identified the victim as 39-year-old Brian Rogers. They said Rogers had five children and loved flying remote control helicopters.

On Saturday, more than 10 people used three boats and a personal water craft to search the river.

Officials told the family it could be days before the body surfaces.
