CLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Two men have been rescued after their ultralight aircraft malfunctioned and got stuck in a tree on a sparsely populated island in northern Lake St. Clair in eastern Michigan.

The Detroit Free Press (https://on.freep.com/1CfFX6U ) reports neither man was injured in the crash Saturday afternoon on Dickinson Island, which is a part of Clay Township in St. Clair County.

Clay Township Fire Department Capt. Frank Bayly says the aircraft and two men from Harrison Township, ages 50 and 60, were found caught in branches roughly 30 feet above ground.

Bayly says the U.S. Coast Guard sent a helicopter to the scene. A rescue diver attached a harness around the men, and they were lowered to the ground.

The aircraft was still in the tree as of Saturday night.
