ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Police are investigating the discovery of a human jawbone near an Anchorage road.

Police say dispatchers were contacted Sunday evening by an individual who reported finding the bone in a wood line at a park near Brayton Drive. According to police, the bone does not appear to be fresh.

Police say nothing else suspicious was found in the area.

The state medical examiner’s office will try to determine a positive identification from the bone.
