NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - A confrontation involving three men in a central New Jersey community ended with one man slashing the other two.

New Brunswick police say the slashing occurred around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

They say surveillance video shows two of the men chasing the third along a city street. The man being chased then turned around and slashed the two pursuers before he fled the area on foot.

Authorities say Carlos Ramirez was slashed across his chest, while Alphonso Lopez-Hernandez was slashed across the abdomen. The two men, both 33-year-old city residents were treated at a hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

It’s not clear why the men were chasing the other man, who remained at large on Monday.
