CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating two crashes that killed a woman near Rawlins and a man near Thermopolis.

Sgt. David Wagener says 61-year-old Jacob Linn was riding his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 20 south of Thermopolis on Thursday when he went off the side of the road on a curve and hit a guardrail. The Thermopolis man, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

On Sunday, 64-year-old Linda Brantner, of Bairoil, died when the pickup she was driving hydroplaned on U.S. 287 north of Rawlins and crashed into an oncoming Jeep. Two people in the Jeep were injured.

Investigators believe speed and the condition of Brantner’s tires played a role in the crash.
