SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A private fireworks show in South Jordan went awry when a firework tipped over and landed in the audience.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1gjNF6h ) that the firework shot into the crowd on Friday night and touched the face and neck of a woman.

South Jordan Fire Battalion Chief Reed Thompson says the woman had a cut and what he estimated to be a second-degree burn. She was taken to the University of Utah Health Care Burn Center.

Thompson says it is unclear why the firework tipped.
