FORT MORGAN, Ala. (AP) - Fire officials say a girl is in the hospital after being struck by lightning on a coastal Alabama beach.

Stevens says no other injuries were reported, but several people who were near the girl when she was struck said they had a difficult time hearing afterward.

Details on the extent of the girl’s injuries weren’t immediately available.
