NEWARK, Del. (AP) - In a story July 5 about a man who died after falling off a deck, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the man who died was a University of Delaware student. Police say he was not a University of Delaware student.

Man dead after falling off deck in Newark

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark police say a 20-year-old man is dead after he fell off a back deck and struck his head.

Police say the victim was socializing with friends on a back deck when he fell. Police say emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 5 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are withholding the man’s name and say no foul play is suspected.
