IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (AP) - U.S. Border Patrol agents have arrested a 40-year-old Mexican man who crossed into the United States in an inflatable kayak.

Officials said a harbor patroller spotted the man kayaking at sea near the U.S.-Mexican border around 10:40 p.m. Saturday.

Officers caught up with the man an hour later and found him near the western shore of the Tijuana River, which flows through Mexico and into Southern California.

Officials determined that the man was in the country illegally and transported him to a nearby station for processing.
