BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Police in Bismarck say a 37-year-old man has been arrested after he invaded a home and tied up a female resident.

Bismarck Police officer Pat Renz says officers responded to woman’s home around 4:30 a.m. Monday after a neighbor reported a possible domestic incident. Renz says officers saw the man “escorting” the woman to the back of the house when they arrived at the scene.

At that point, an officer headed to the front door and another one to the rear. Renz says the man was arrested when he attempted to leave through the back after hearing a knock on the front door.

Renz says officers untied the woman’s hands. She told police she doesn’t know the man who woke her up in the middle of the night.

Charges against the Bismarck man are expected Monday afternoon.
