NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas authorities have arrested a man in a fatal shooting that occurred outside of a North Little Rock church.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Chris Ameling says deputies responded Tuesday morning to the Graves Memorial Baptist Church and found Chad Johnson suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Ameling says the victim and the suspect were not connected to the church, which was closed at the time of the shooting.

Johnson died while being transported to a hospital.

Deputies say the suspect they arrested in the shooting faces a second-degree murder charge. They say the dispute began after a reported hit-and-run accident where a homeowner’s gate was damaged.

Ameling says the shooter was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
