DAVISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police say rain may slow search efforts for a 9-year-old boy reported missing following a gathering at a Flint-area park.

Authorities say Omarion Humphrey has been missing since Saturday evening from Lake Callis Recreation Complex in Genesee County’s Davison Township. An Amber Alert was issued for the child, who authorities say is severely autistic and may not speak but answers to the name “Mars.”

Rain fell Tuesday across Michigan. Hundreds of law enforcement officials and volunteers have searched for the boy since Saturday.

Davison Township police Lt. Jay Rendon tells The Flint Journal “We’re going to keep pushing until the weather knocks us down.”

Khisha Humphrey says her son was with his foster family. She says he’s previously hid but hasn’t run off.

The park is closed amid the search.
