BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The Boulder County coroner’s office has confirmed that a body pulled from Boulder Creek was that of a tuber who had been missing for weeks.

Coroner Emma Hall identified the body Tuesday as 35-year-old Christopher Danko, of Boulder, but she did not release a cause or manner of death.

Danko was reported missing by a friend after going tubing the evening of May 11. His body was recovered June 30.

The friend says Danko appeared to have trouble stabilizing the tube because the water was moving so fast. At one point, the friend, who didn’t get in the water, tried to pull Danko out, but he couldn’t grab him and lost sight of him.

The creek was moving at about 7 mph, and the water was about 40 degrees at the time.
