ELKINS, W.Va. (AP) - Davis & Elkins College is bringing back former men’s soccer coach Greg Myers.

College President Buck Smith announced Myers’ hiring Monday.

Myers began his coaching career at the Elkins school in 1964. He led Davis & Elkins to NAIA national championships in 1968 and 1970.

Myers was inducted into the college’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986.

He coached for 29 seasons at Navy before retiring in 2004. He returned to Davis & Elkins as athletic director in 2009 and coached the soccer team for one season. Myers also coached at West Virginia University and at Florida International.

The 1963 graduate of WVU has a 335-226-70 career coaching record in 39 seasons.

Davis & Elkins competes in the NCAA Division II Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
