LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - A Forest woman has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for embezzling from a federal credit union.

Sixty-one-year-old Claudia Rawe also must pay nearly $2 million in restitution to Centra Health Credit Union.

Federal prosecutors say Rawe admitted to embezzling and stealing money from the credit union beginning in the early 1990s. She began managing the credit union’s Lynchburg General Hospital branch around 2005.

Rawe was sentenced on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Lynchburg. She had previously pleaded guilty to theft and embezzlement from a federal credit union.
