MCPHERSON, Kan. (AP) - A McPherson man has been sentenced to life in prison in connection with the November death of a former Oregon resident.

The Salina Journal (https://bit.ly/1LTGe2w ) reports 32-year-old Clinton Bascue was sentenced Monday for the death of 39-year-old James Avery Croft. According to a news release from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt’s office, Bascue pleaded no contest to first-degree felony murder in April.

Authorities said Croft, who was originally from Portland, Oregon, was found in a car in a ditch near Galva on Nov. 15.

Another defendant, Kamra Kay Farrel, was charged with first-degree felony murder in April in connection with the case. She is scheduled to appear in court July 24.
