PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a man is dead after he was hit by a bus in downtown Philadelphia.

It happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say the man was struck and killed by a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus near 11th and Walnut streets.

Police say the SEPTA driver didn’t know he struck the man until a taxi driver flagged him down a few blocks away.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify the victim.

The accident is under investigation.
