GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) - A man has been charged with the ax-murder of his grandparents, who were found dead in their Southern California home.

Thirty-four-year-old Nathaniel Scheiern of Glendale was charged Tuesday with two counts of murder with special circumstances. Prosecutors haven’t decided whether to seek the death penalty.

It’s unclear whether Scheiern has an attorney.

The bodies of 82-year-old Verna Scheiern and 77-year-old William Sheiern were discovered on June 28.

Scheiern lived with them.

Authorities haven’t released a motive for the killings.
