COMPTON, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 22-year-old man was killed and two others wounded when two men opened fire on a Compton street.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Eddie Hernandez said a 63-year-old man who was standing nearby was hit Tuesday by a stray bullet, and a 16-year-old boy was struck in the thigh and back.

The two assailants ran away. Hernandez said the shoot does not appear to be gang-related.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1Cn6Khz ) the shooting was the third in Compton in two days.

On Monday, two men were wounded outside a fish market and a 9-year-old girl was shot and injured a few blocks away. Authorities said those two shootings appear to be related to each other.
