MIDDLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Two bodies have been found in a homeless encampment in southern New Jersey.

But authorities say it’s not yet known what caused the deaths or if either person died under suspicious circumstances.

Cape May County prosecutors say the bodies of a man and a woman were found shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday in a wooded area of Middle Township. They were discovered by an individual who was walking on a back trail in the town’s Rio Grande section.

Authorities say they are hoping the public can provide information that will help them identify the bodies.
