SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Two people are dead and two others are hospitalized in critical condition following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 in Utah.

Utah Highway Patrol said a silver Jeep Cherokee was going north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near Fillmore around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when it collided with a white Honda car going in the right direction.

The man driver and a woman passenger in the back seat of the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driving the Jeep and the front seat passenger of the Honda are hospitalized in very critical condition.

Traffic was directed off the southbound lanes for a 10 mile detour Wednesday morning and northbound traffic was not impacted.
