DANVILLE, Va. (AP) - A fire official says two people were seriously hurt when they fell through a roof at a steam plant being demolished in Danville.

Media outlets report the accident occurred at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at the former Brantley Steam Plant.

Fire Battalion Chief Chris Key says the victims fell about 40 feet through the roof. A private contractor is demolishing the building for the city of Danville.

The victims were taken to Danville Regional Medical Center.
