JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Hudson County authorities have arrested a second man for a hit-and-run that killed a college student and injured his 11-year-old brother.

Sergio Ferreyra was arrested at his home in North Arlington Tuesday and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Ferreyra is charged with hindering, obstruction and other offenses. The Hudson County sheriff’s office says Ferreyra owned the 2010 Nissan Rogue that hit Michael and Adrian Viruet last November in North Bergen.

Twenty-year-old Michael Viruet, a Hudson Community College student, died from his injuries.

The man who allegedly drove the car was arrested last December and faces multiple charges.

Authorities say Ferreyra told the man to hide the car and fix the damages, then tried to report the car stolen.

It wasn’t immediately known if Ferreyra had an attorney.
