SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Four mountain lions have been spotted in the San Francisco area since June 30.

KNTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1LW0JvJ ) that officials from the Presidio Trust, the National Park Service and San Francisco Animal Care and Control issued a statement saying three of the sightings were made by members of the public and the fourth was caught by a neighborhood security camera.

Officials say they believe all the sightings are of the same cat, who was last seen Friday in southwest San Francisco near Lake Merced.

Officials say mountain lions are not uncommon in undeveloped areas of Marin and San Mateo, but a San Francisco sighting is rare.
