ORANGE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say three people have been injured, one critically, after a bus crashed into a bank following a collision in northern New Jersey.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office says a Coach USA bus struck a car and then hit a pedestrian before crashing into the side of a Bank of America branch in Orange. It happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The pedestrian, a 34-year-old New York City man, is in critical condition at University Hospital in Newark. The 77-year-old bus driver and the 39-year-old motorist also were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.

It wasn’t immediately known what caused the collision. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is leading an investigation.
