PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a woman from Great Britain who died after a mountain hike at Phoenix’s Echo Canyon Park.

Phoenix police say the body of 48-year-old Ravinder Takhar was spotted by helicopter in a ravine about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

She was from the town of Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands, in the United Kingdom.

The cause of death hasn’t been released and police say they have assumed the investigation.

Authorities say Takhar, her husband and their son hiked a popular park trail.

After all three reached the summit, Takhar needed to sit down and rest in 106-degree conditions.

Takhar told her husband and son to continue hiking down the trail and she would meet up with them. When she didn’t, park rangers were notified and a search began.
