FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a female inmate at the Pinal County Jail has died.

County Sheriff’s officials say 49-year-old Brenda Hazboun of Phoenix was found unresponsive in her cell just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Detention staff immediately began emergency lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived.

Jail officials say the inmate never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead.

Sheriff’s officials say the woman was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for allegedly driving while impaired.

During the booking process, authorities say she admitted to using methamphetamines prior to her arrest.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Bureau will be investigating the death.

Authorities say there’s no sign of foul play and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
