SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Applications are being accepted for controlled deer hunts later this year at Cacapon and Pipestem resort state parks.

The Division of Natural Resources says white-tailed deer hunts are scheduled at Pipestem on Nov. 16 through 18 and at Cacapon (kuh-KAY’-pon) on Dec. 7 through 9.

DNR director Bob Fala says both properties have high deer populations.

Applications for the controlled hunts are available at www.wvhunt.com. The application deadline is Aug. 15. Forty hunters will be selected at random for each day at Pipestem and 30 hunters each day at Cacapon. Hunters who are selected will be notified after Oct. 1.
