FOREST CITY, Iowa (AP) - A trial has been scheduled next month for a 41-year-old woman accused of stealing from a northern Iowa preschool and day care where she’d worked as director.

Mason City television station KIMT reports (https://bit.ly/1dLLsPd ) that Brenda Steinman, of Northwood, has pleaded not guilty to charges of theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and with records tampering. Her trial is set to begin Aug. 19.

Court documents say she used company credit cards for her personal expenses and took other funds from Lake Mills Community Preschool & Daycare on or after Jan. 12. The documents say she took nearly $7,400.
