PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Court records show a 36-year-old Jackson County man has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of DUI causing death.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1HNosvn) a grand jury indicted James Curtis Boyd on the felony charge in the June 15, 2014, death of 41-year-old Melissa Miller, of Escatawpa. Boyd is free on a bond.

According to the indictment, Boyd was impaired and driving in negligent manner when his pickup truck struck and killed Miller on Mississippi 613 in the Hurley community.

Felony DUI resulting in injury or death is punishable by five to 25 years in prison.
