VALLEY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a body found in an eastern Alabama creek is that of a missing Georgia woman.

Alabama medical examiners have determined that the body found Tuesday is that of 25-year-old Renee Eldridge of Columbus, Georgia.

The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports (https://bit.ly/1HfF8qz) that Eldridge’s body was found in Osanippa Creek in Valley, Alabama.

Authorities say Eldridge died of blunt force trauma to the head. She had been reported missing by family members on Saturday.

Valley is on the Alabama-Georgia line, about 30 miles northwest of Columbus.

The Valley Police Department and Columbus Police Department are working together on the homicide case. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or CrimeStoppers.
