GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say dozens of dogs living in substandard conditions have been removed from a mobile home in Hall County.

County officials say 59 dogs were removed from a mobile home and the couple who lived there has been charged with animal cruelty.

Assistant Hall County Administrator Marty Nix said in a release that the home was unsanitary and some of the animals suffered from unaddressed medical issues.

Hall County Animal Shelter veterinarian Meghan Seabolt says all the dogs have been treated for excessive flea bites and 39 are now ready for adoption. Seabolt says one of the dogs had to have an eye removed.
