RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - A 20-year-old snowboarder was rescued after tumbling from Medicine Bow Peak, about 40 miles west of Laramie.

The Rawlins Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/1NOM5DW) a news release from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office says Emma Chafin fell from the peak’s summit Saturday, grabbing one of the last boulders in a 50-yard-long field of them to stop her descent.

One of the four people with Chafin drove to Centennial to call for help.

High-angle rescuers from Carbon and Albany counties used a sled to bring Chafin to the Lake Marie shoreline.

She was transported by raft to an ambulance and treated at a hospital for minor injuries and symptoms of hypothermia.
