TISHOMINGO, Okla. (AP) - The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma is accepting applications from Native American artists for the Tobachi Kanchi Art Market next month.

Tobachi Kanchi means to buy and sell in the Chickasaw tribal language. The art market is set for Aug. 8 on the grounds of the historic Chickasaw Nation Capitol.

Southeastern and Woodlands Native American artists are invited to display and sell their handmade arts and crafts in the artist tent. There is no charge for artists to participate.

Artists must be at least 18 years old and provide documentation of citizenship in a federally recognized Southeastern or Woodlands Native American tribe.

The historic Chickasaw Nation Capitol grounds are located in Tishomingo in southeastern Oklahoma.
