NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) - The Three Affiliated Tribes is expanding its 4 Bears Casino near New Town to better accommodate customers and upgrade the entertainment it offers.

Additions include a grand ballroom, a slot machine room and a new event center. The old event center is being converted into the ballroom, which will have flat-screen TVs, chandeliers and a seating area to accommodate more than 400 people.

“It’ll be a great multipurpose entertainment facility,” General Manager Patrick Packineau told KXMC-TV (https://bit.ly/1JOuwpB ).

The slot machine room will be equipped with a “state of the art” air vent system designed to remove cigarette smoke, he said.

The new 85,000-square-foot event center will hold about 4,000 people and will enable the casino to bring in bigger entertainment acts, according to Packineau.

“We’ve always had concerts, but now we have a newer, more up-to-date facility in which our customers can enjoy those types of events,” he said.

The ballroom and expanded gambling floor should be ready by the end of the month. The new event center is scheduled for completion in July 2016, adding to the complex that includes restaurants, lounges and a hotel.

“It makes us a more diversified casino,” Packineau said.
