WARREN, R.I. (AP) - Police have identified a woman who was hurt while jogging in Rhode Island when she was hit by a hay bale and pinned underneath a trailer hauling hay.

Police said Wednesday that 47-year-old Kimberly Berube of Swansea, Massachusetts, suffered serious injuries to her hips and legs.

The accident happened Tuesday afternoon in Warren, near the Massachusetts state border.

Ellen Muleberg, who was behind the trailer at the time of the accident, tells WPRO-AM (https://bit.ly/1NPW50q ) she called 911 after seeing the hay bale let go and hit Berube.

Workers lifted the trailer off her and she was taken to a hospital.

The driver, 61-year-old Byron Kee, was cited for failing to register the trailer.

Police believe the incident was an accident.

A tractor arrived afterward to haul away the remaining hay.
