LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say two Youngsville residents died in separate crashes, just hours apart.

Master Trooper Brooks David says 58-year-old Vincent Mancuso died Wednesday afternoon when the tread on the right rear tire on his van separated causing the vehicle to turnover on Interstate 49 north of Opelousas. David said in a news release that Mancuso was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two hours later, David says 72-year-old Shirley Semond died when her car ran off Louisiana Highway 82 in Vermilion Parish and hit a tree.

He says Semond was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead on scene by the Vermilion Parish Coroner.

David says both accidents remain under investigation.
