MCCALL, Idaho (AP) - Businesses in the close-knit resort town of McCall have been struck by dozens of burglaries in recent weeks.

KTVB-TV reports (https://is.gd/h6jZRH ) that McCall Police Officer Andrew Fisher says thieves are targeting business that have cash left over from the night before, such as coffee shops or restaurants, and are walking out with the money.

He says some businesses’ doors have been left open or alarm systems turned off at the time of break ins.

Officers say in one case as much as $500 was taken from the cash register.

Fisher is encouraging all the businesses and residents of McCall to take care to secure their businesses at the end of the day.
