BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A county coroner has officially identified a body as that of a man who was being sought by law officers in the shooting deaths of his wife and two children.

WVTM-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1D34Ldz) that the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the body found Saturday in a wooded area as 47-year-old Stephen Sean Hutcheson.

Investigators have said they believe Hutcheson shot his family members last month at their McCalla home before turning the gun on himself.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies had discovered the body after finding a silver Dodge Stratus registered to Hutcheson. Investigators suspected it was that of Hutcheson, but said the coroner would have to confirm that.
