ERIE, Pa. (AP) - A coroner says someone killed a 14-month-old Pennsylvania girl with heroin.

The Erie Times-News (https://bit.ly/1NVBLut ) says the Erie County coroner has determined Tieairee Marie Henderson Rodriguez’s overdose death in February was a homicide - meaning someone gave her the heroin - not an accident or natural death.

District Attorney Jack Daneri and Erie police say the case remains under investigation though nobody has been charged.

The girl’s mother, Felisha Martinez, tells the newspaper she has passed a lie detector test and doesn’t know how her daughter received the heroin. The girl’s father, Julio Rodriguez, says he’s hoping police can solve the case.

A coroner’s report shows investigators went so far as to exhume the girl’s casket in April, after learning a baby bottle was placed inside with her. The bottle tested negative for drugs.
