LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas transportation officials are closing a portion of Highway 8 in Dallas County next week for drainage improvements.

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department said Thursday that the highway will be closed from 6 a.m. Monday through 5 p.m. on July 17th.

Crews will close a section of the Highway 8 located about 3 miles west of the Highway 9 intersection. They will install a box culvert beneath the highway to help with drainage.

Officials will be directing Highway 8 traffic through Holly Springs while the construction is in progress.
