PHOENIX (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is moving his Arizona campaign event this weekend to the Phoenix Convention Center.

Trump was scheduled to give a speech Saturday at the Arizona Biltmore Resort Spa.

Organizers say a larger venue is needed due to the overwhelming response of people wanting to attend.

The event is open to the public and a Trump spokeswoman says thousands of people are expected at the event now.

So far, about 3,500 people have RSVP’d for the 2 p.m. speech inside the Convention Center’s North Ballroom.

Trump says he will speak about immigration and the Maricopa County Republican Party says he will be accompanied by county Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
