LOS ANGELES (AP) - Arson investigators say a fire next to a South Los Angeles church was deliberately set.

Fire spokesman Erik Scott tells the Los Angeles Times (https://lat.ms/1CsB0rM) that the arson fire was reported Thursday in a building that houses the Starlight Church of God.

The fire was in a room that connects to the church. The room serves as a living quarters for some church members.

Police say a tenant had been involved in a dispute with the church. However, Scott says the church didn’t appear to be the target of the fire and wasn’t damaged.

Crews doused the flames in about five minutes. Nobody was injured and no arrested were made.

Investigators say an earlier blaze at a church across town was accidental.
