GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a Phoenix man who was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Glendale convenience store.

Police say Glendale firefighters treated 29-year-old Mark McCreary at the scene Wednesday afternoon before he was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Glendale violent crimes detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

They say McCreary was getting into his vehicle about 2:45 p.m. when some sort of altercation took place with the suspect.

Witnesses say the suspect took out a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the vehicle.

Police say the shooter fled the scene and still is at large.

Witnesses have given police a detailed description of the suspect.
